THE EARLY DAYS

Wild West Oysters was established by Mark Binder in 2007. The business started as Binder and Rush Oysters in 2004 in partnership Mark’s father Murray Binder, and friend Tom Rush.

 

In the beginning, Wild West Oysters (then Binder and Rush Oysters) was small; run from Mark’s small boat, Argus Tuft, on the weekends or whenever he could get out on the boat, testing the waters and benefits of various lease sites in Smoky Bay.

 

From there, Wild West Oysters has continued to grow. We now have three operating barges with oysters growing across every lease site in the bay. Using the latest in oyster farming technology ensures our high-quality product and efficient farming practices for our team.
