SMOKY BAY
The entire region is a coastal haven for any lovers of the sea. Pristine beaches span our coastline and there’s plenty of it to explore. Mark and Nathalie, as lovers of the sea and land themselves, love to show it off to their seasonal workers who are not familiar with the area.
The West Coast is known for it’s relaxed and friendly population – there are plenty of sporting clubs and pubs where you’ll quickly learn where to go and explore.
Smoky Bay is a small regional town located on the West Coast of South Australia. There are around 200 permanent residents in the town, with nearly double the amount of tourists visiting during the peak seasons. Smoky Bay is a popular fishing location, with King George Whiting, Scallops, crabs and the world renowned Pacific Oysters being plentiful.
The oyster sheds are located in the town’s Aquaculture Park which is home to over 20 other oyster sheds, you will find this location on the left hand side when entering the Smoky Bay township. (see here)
The closest airport is in Ceduna, located 40km to the northwest which has plenty of shops and a population of about 3,500. We have team members who live in the surrounding communities of Streaky Bay (70km southeast), farming communities, and Ceduna.
Adelaide our capital city is located 755km, which is a long 8 hour drive from Smoky Bay or a quick flight to Ceduna, before the small drive to the Bay.
